In case you don’t know, there’s a little band out there that goes by the name of Powerglove, who plays video game metal.

My friend showed them to me and since I heard them I’ve been completely sold. Unlike bands like Minibosses and This place is haunted. These guys actually knows their shit, and the tracks they’ve put out are simply awesome. :)

Instead of driving rough straight off covers of the tracks they pay homage to. They rework them to become something that actually works for the medium and amplifies them to new heights. Honestly, if you want to hear the original tracks, you are always better off listening to their original version. Instead of the thrashing of some garage band who’s trying desperately to recapture their essence. Powerglove on the other hand takes it one step further and makes something new and special with it.

And I love it.

Powerglove – Video game metal

…and so on.

Can’t say I’ve ever been one to understand the big deal with new years. It’s one of those celebrations, where we are just celebrating that time is passing and we’re generally getting older. I suppose it’s not a bad thing per se. But at the same time, it’s something that delivers unease and anxiety to millions of people all around the world everyday.

To quote “Knights of Cydonia” by Muse – “Don’t waste your time, or time will waste you.”
